smurfing solved, remove invite cost? - Guild Wars Forums

i assume that the reason why invite costs were put in was to nerf smurfing. now that the new tournament system resolves smurfing, would it be possible to remove invite costs?

as somebody focused on the gvg aspect of the game, i don't have time to pve. whenever i do, it takes me about a half an hour just to get 1000 gold. guilds started for gvg purposes tend to cycle through many tryouts, so it can be costly just to simply invite people, let alone purchase a guild hall and etc.

The cost was introduced because a long time ago, people would spam invites all over the place to un-guilded players. If you weren't in a guild, and walked through Ascalon, you'd be spammed constantly with invites.

I remember distinctly when I first got the game and walked around, it was not uncommon to hear the "ding ding ding ding ding" as person after person spammed invites at you.

Invites should go up in price, guild spamming rarely results in getting decent people anyway.
